John W. Bishop passed away Wednesday morning at Bolivar General Hospital.
The husband of Erma Bishop, who survives, he retired as a truck driver for SAIA Motor Freight. Mr. Bishop was born to the late William Bryan Bishop and Bessie Lucile Goodman Bishop and moved to Middleton in 1975. He was a member of Middleton First United Methodist Church and a graduate of Milan High School class of 1955.
In addition to his wife, whom he married October 18, 1981, he is survived by two daughters, Donna Burleson of Arlington and Cathy Waterbury and her husband Lee, of Atoka; a son, Jim Bishop and his wife Joanna of Bell Buckle; two sisters, Lucile Callahan of Middleton and Joanne Neely of Louisville, KY; a brother, Jimmy Bishop of Brownsville; and nine grandchildren, John Burleson, Julie Burleson, Jeanne Burleson, Jay Bishop, Carrie Bishop, Casey Waterbury, Justin Waterbury, Jena Burlison and Anna Waterbury. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, June Dickerson and a brother, Bryan Bishop, Jr.
