Joel Howard West

Funeral services for Joel Howard West, age 75, of Middle Butler Road, Iron City, TN were conducted on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 1 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Collinwood, TN with Rusty Lincoln and Charles Marable officiating. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery, Iron City, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing.



Mr. West died at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, TN on Wednesday, January 30, 2008.



A native of Wayne County, TN, he was a retired press operator at Murray Ohio Manufacturing Company and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Joel loved to hunt wildlife and loved his dogs.



He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph S. and Mattie Francis Martin West; brothers, Marshall and Hobert West; sisters, Addie Reaves and Alta Robbins; and a step-grandson, Kelly Henderson.



Survivors, son, Jay E. West and wife, Lois, Ardmore, AL; brother, Ernest West, Iron City, TN; his former wife and caregiver, Nadine West, Collinwood; five step-grandchildren; fourteen step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
