Joe Smith

Joe Smithwas born in Cherry Valley, Arkansas on August 15, 1933 the son of the late George and Gradie Smith.On February 10, 2003 he was united in marriage to Veneal Young, who survives.Mr. Smith was a citrus worker in Florida. He had lived in Lakewood Park and Davenport, Florida for 50 years before moving to Hardin County, Tennessee 5 years ago. Mr. Smith enjoyed meeting new friends, watching TV, and listening to Christian music. Mr. Smith departed this life on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at the age of 74 years, 9 months, 26 days.In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son: Billy Smith and his wife Cathy of Eagle Lake, Florida; four daughters: Betty Carpenter, Charlotte McCoy both of North Florida, Patsy Taylor, Norma Jean Carter both of Haines City, Florida; a step-daughter: Barbara Devaul of Savannah, Tennessee; three step-sons: Danny Young of Savannah, Tennessee, Sammy Young of Tampa, Florida, David Young of Florence, Colorado; two brothers: Robert Smith of Haines City, Florida, Tommy Smith of Double Springs, Alabama; thirteen grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Mary Ford; a sister: Mildred Smith; a brother: "Red" Smith.
