Joe David Reeves

Joe David Reeves was born October 20, 1946 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late Floyd Harold Reeves, Sr. and Esther Mae Matlock Reeves. Mr. Reeves was a carpenter and served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict.

Mr. Reeves departed this life on Friday, April 29, 2019 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 72 Years, 6 Months, 9 Days.

He is survived by a son, Jerry Reeves of Florence, AL; three daughters, Theresa Riley of Florence, AL, Teena Goodloe of Muscle Shoals, AL and Josie Reeves of Greenhill, AL; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Johnny Reeves of Portland, TN; three sisters, Betty Risner of Collinwood, TN, Mary Ann Butler and Barbara Davis both of Waynesboro, TN and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Reeves was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Reeves; a brother, Floyd Harold Reeves, Jr. and a sister, Geraldine Thrasher.

Services, with military rites, will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Laverne Griggs officiating. At his request, following the services, his body will be cremated and buried at Shields Cemetery, Waynesboro, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 12 noon to service time at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kaynen Butler, Canyon Pulley, Teryn James, Kodi Thrasher, Kyler Staggs, Jaythen Staggs, Sheyenne Reeves, Luke Holt and Gunner Andrews.
