Mr. Joe Pyles passed from this life Sunday afternoon, October 16, 2016 in Bolivar at the age of 87 years and 3 months.
The husband of Faye Puckett Pyles, who survives, he was the owner of Joe Pyles Saw Shop for over 18 years and also worked for Anderson Tractor Company and Stallings Tractor Company. He was born July 16, 1929, in Bemis, son of the late John Thomas Pyles and Lou Evie Young Pyles and lived most of his life in Hardeman County, spending some time in Madison County. He was a veteran of the US Army and member of the VFW and Toone First Baptist Church. He enjoyed collecting coins, dancing and being around children. He especially held dear his nieces and nephews and his dog, "Snowball".
In addition to his wife, whom he married on September 5, 1950, survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Hines of Jackson and and brother, Robert Pyles of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Charline Cox and a nephew, Chris Puckett. The family requests memorial contributions in Mr. Pyles' name be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org/donate) or LeBonheur Children's Medical Center (lebonheur.org/donate).
