Joe David Pettigrew

Joe David Pettigrew was born November 3, 1938 in the Gilchrist Community of McNairy County, TN the son of Alene Chambers Pettigrew and the late Lawrence Pettigrew. He departed this life on August 19, 2015.

He was united in marriage to Dorothy Jones on November 21, 1957.

Joe David was a member of Mt. Sharon Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of Adamsville High School Class of 1958. He was a Truck Driver of 50 years and was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather.
He enjoyed boating, Nascar racing, watching the Memphis Grizzlies, and bar-b-queing and visiting with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Pettigrew of Adamsville, TN;
two daughters, Mitzi Pettigrew Mitchell and husband Steve of Selmer, TN, Leigh Pettigrew Evans and husband David Lynn of Selmer; Tammy R. Casey of Adamsville; two sons, Marty Pettigrew and wife Michelle of Memphis, TN, Dave Pettigrew and wife Leann of Adamsville, TN; a deceased son, Clay Pettigrew; his mother, Alene Pettigrew of Adamsville; twelve grandchildren, Jill Keen and husband Tommy, Blake Mitchell, Madison Pettigrew and wife Abigail, Morgan Pettigrew, Cole Pettigrew, Dalton Pettigrew, Garrett Pettigrew, Preston Pettigrew, Weston Pettigrew, Jay Pettigrew, Montana Pettigrew, Megan Moore and husband Michael; eight great grandchildren, Mekenzi Mitchell and husband Tyler, Luke Keen, Halle Kate Keen, Trace Mitchell, Jagger Mitchell, Reid Pettigrew, Rylee Pettigrew, Kaley Pettigrew; a great great grandchild on the way, Annysten Reese Mitchell.
