Joe Everette Maxwell, 81, of Bolivar, died Tues., Dec. 12 at Bolivar General Hospital.
The widower of Blanche McKeown Maxwell, who died in 1988, he was the retired owner/operator of Maxwell's Grocery. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the South Pacific and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was born January 5, 1925 in Middleton, son of the late W. O. and Gertrude Strickland Maxwell and was a life long resident of Hardeman County.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Landreth of Bolivar; a son, Douglass Maxwell of Bolivar; two sisters, Frances Baker of Bolivar and Ruth Campbell of Memphis.
