JOE HUNT
Pinson: Joseph Winfred Hunt, age 89, died Monday morning December 8, 2014 at Jackson General Hospital.
Mr. Hunt was born and reared at Dyer, TN the son of the late Voyd and Agnes Fletcher Hunt. He attended schools at Dyer and farmed and raised cattle as a young man. He married Grace Wooley on June 15, 1944. He entered the United States Marines in 1944 and served until 1946. After the service he continued to farm and was also employed as a car salesman until his retirement in 1977. After he retired they traveled for fifteen years, traveling to every state in the Union. He attended Pinson United Methodist Church.

Mr. Hunt is survived by his wife Grace Wooley Hunt of Jackson, a daughter Gale Fulton and husband Dell of Pinson, son-in-law Don Mitchell and wife Nancy of Jackson, two sisters: Martha Wright of Memphis and Rose Hogue of Eads, two grandchildren: Donnie Mitchell and Greg Mitchell and wife Kristin, great grandchild Hailey Cunningham and husband Rob and two great-great grandchildren, Logan and Linnley Cunningham.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Mitchell in 2003, a brother Robert Hunt and a sister Mary Kelsey.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Jimmy Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at Big Springs Cemetery near Pinson.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford – Casey Chapel beginning at 12 noon Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Pinson United Methodist Church.
