Joe Clois Holmes

JOE CLOIS HOLMES, SR, age 93 of Henderson, TN died May 30, 2009 at the Jackson Madison-County General Hospital.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Little Hatchie Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Cecil Woodruff officiating and burial in the Little Hatchie Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 5:00 PM on Monday at Casey Chapel.
He was born and reared in Chester County, Masseyville community, son of the late William Edgar and Ora Belle Holmes Holmes. He was educated in the schools of Chester County, and in 1943 was married to Ruth Kennedy of Henderson County. He farmed and in 1954 was employed by Western Mental Health Hospital in Bolivar where he was a psychiatric aid until his retirement in 1982.
He is survived by his daughter Judy Cranford and husband Phillip, two sons Joe C. Holmes, Jr. and wife Nancy, Gary Holmes and wife Sarah all of Henderson,
and a sister Ophelia Jordan of Henderson, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Warren, Calvin, and Olen Holmes and one sister Edria Mae Crowe.
