Joe Caperton
was born in Savannah, Tennessee on March 11, 1931 the son of the late Joe Marvin and Amy Lee Clement Caperton.
Mr. Caperton was a veteran and retired from the U.S. Air Force. On December 20, 1980 he was united in marriage to the former Faye Gordon, who survives. Mr. Caperton retired as a Deputy with the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department. He had also worked at Jones’ Motors. Mr. Capterton was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church of Selmer.
He departed this life on February 17, 2007 at the Hardin County Nursing Home in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 6 days.
Mr. Caperton is survived by his wife, Faye Caperton of Savannah, Tennessee;
two sons: Jimmy Caperton of South Carolina and Joey Caperton of Chattanooga, Tennessee; one daughter, Cheryl Caperton of South Carolina;
three step-sons: Jamie Cummings, Jerry Cummings
and Jimmy Cummings, all of Dallas, Texas:
seven grandchildren: Dusty Hudson, Jennifer Campbell, Jessica Campbell,
Patrick Caperton, Daniel Caperton, Anastasia Caperton and Jonathon Caperton
and one brother, Gene Caperton of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: Joseph and Richard Capterton; one daughter, Judith Caperton; one brother, Billy Caperton and
one sister, Artie Blanch Davidson.
