Joe W. Butler

Joe Wood Butler, Jr. of Waynesboro, TN was born March 6, 1945 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late Joe Wood, Sr. and Mary Carmilla Norman Butler. He was united in marriage to Linda Joyce Brewer on May 23, 1964.

Mr. Butler was a loan officer at Wayne County Bank and was a United States Army veteran.

Mr. Butler departed this life on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 70 Years, 29 Days.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Joyce Brewer Butler; a son, Joe Wood Butler, III and wife, Selena; a daughter, Amy Denise Butler Van Fleet and husband, Dustin all of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Mason Butler, Hallie Butler, Carson Van Fleet, Ella Van Fleet and Myles Butler and a special friend, Dee Berry of Madison, MS.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Butler was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Kay Butler Nutt.

Services will be Monday, April 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Camryn Eaton and Don Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Darrell Holt, Jay Brewer, Coy Anderson, Floyd (Babe) Staggs, James Frank Bundrant, Roy Holt and Paul Brewer.

Visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am, Monday, April 6, 2015 at the funeral home.

No flowers, please....memorial donations may be given to Cumberland Presbyterian Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
