JOE BARRIER
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on January 8, 1936 the son of the late Ben Ervin and Roxie Daniels Barrier.
On September 18, 1960 he was united in marriage to Ellen Lewis, who survives.
Mr. Barrier retired after 30 years from the Hardin County Board of Education as a bus driver and custodian. He also was a self-employed farmer and had worked for Rudy's Farm in Florence, Alabama. Mr. Barrier was a member of Second Creek Church of Christ. He lived in the Walnut Grove community and he loved gardening.
Mr. Barrier departed this life on March 23, 2010 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 15 days.
In addition to his wife Ellen of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by 3 daughters, Regina Bromley of Savannah, Tennessee, Kelli Lovelace of Collinwood, Tennessee and Paige Moore of Savannah, Tennessee
one son, Christopher Joe Barrier of Shelbyville, Tennessee
4 grandchildren, Kayla Bromley, Colton Bromley, Landon Lovelace and Lily Lovelace
3 sisters, Stella Haynes of Florence, Alabama, Eileen Balentine of Tuscumbia, Alabama and Barbara Barrier of Savannah, Tennessee
one brother, Thomas Barrier of Florence, Alabama
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Amy Leigh Barrier and 3 brothers, J. H., Freddie and Bennie Barrier.
