Jo Ann Pharr Shearon, 72, of Bolivar, died Monday, October 23, 2006 at Bolivar General Hospital.
The widow of Herman “Bud†Shearon, who died November 24, 1995 after 43 years of marriage, she was an office manager for Greg Wilson, DDS. Mrs. Shearon was born September 25, 1934, in Marietta, Miss., the daughter of Mae Pharr of Marietta and the late Vardeman Doe Pharr. She lived in Michigan for 25 years before returning to Bolivar to make her home in 1977. She was an avid reader, loved to care for the elderly and was a member of Bolivar Church of Christ.
Services were 3 pm Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with Tom Childers and David Looney officiating. Burial was in Parran’s Chapel Cemetery near Bolivar.
In addition to her mother, survivors include one daughter, Tracy Byrum of Bolivar and her husband, Alyn; one sister, Jane Cole of Boonevillle, Miss.; four brothers, Harold, Milton, Gene and Rickey Pharr, all of Marietta and three grandchildren, Nathan, Anna Lyn, and Shea. In addition to her husband and father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Hershal and Jimmy Vaughan Pharr.
