JoAnn Burkeen was born August 13, 1932 in Fulton, MS, the daughter of the late Robert M. and Dorothy Ferrell Wright.
She was united in marriage to James Harold Burkeen in 1951. Mr. Burkeen preceded her in death on July 26, 1983.
Mrs. Burkeen was a retired Seamstress and worked for Jetricks in Selmer, TN. She had a passion for sewing and loved her family. She was Baptist in faith.
Mrs. Burkeen departed this life on March 6, 2016 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 6 Months, 22 Days.
She is survived by a son, Tony Burkeen and wife Kim of Stantonville, TN; three grandchildren: Andrea Kents and husband John of Memphis, TN, Christie Burkeen of Lafayette, LA, Lauren Burkeen of Selmer, TN; two step grandchildren, Kirby and Kassy Brush both of Selmer, TN; a sister, Sue Hughes of Adamsville, TN.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Burkeen was preceded in death by two sisters, Nola Mae Pulley and Mary Ellen Surratt; two brothers, Cecil and James Wright.
