Joann Coffman Brooks

Joann Coffman Brooks departed this life on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at the age of 85 years, 2 months, and 12 days. She was born in Hardin County, Tennessee, on January 18, 1937, the daughter of the late Willie Greene Coffman and Maggie Pearl Fowler Coffman. On May 9, 1964, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Brooks, who survives.

Joann had lived in Hardin County, Tennessee for most of her life. She was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church and had been a waitress at Redwood Hut, a job she enjoyed. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching TV, shopping, and helping raise her niece, Jacey.

In addition to her husband of almost 58 years, Kenneth of Counce, Tennessee, she is survived by her sisters, Beautone Young of Peoria, Illinois, Virginia Coffman, and Carolyn McMeans and her husband Danny, all of Counce, Tennessee; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Joann was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Kiddy, Mildred Meeks, Mary Sue Parson, and June Thompson.
