was born in St. Marys, Pennsylvania on January 20, 1943 the daughter of the late Ernest J. and Nina Kathleen Hathaway Reed.
On December 27, 1981 she was united in marriage to Richard Eugene Chapman, who preceded his wife in death on October 16, 2019.
Joan was a retired lead line person for Schering-Plough-Merk.
She departed this life on January 20, 2020 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 77 years.
Joan is survived by her children, Scott Prather of Knoxville, Tennessee, Terrie Peay of Savannah, Tennessee and Brian Prather of Lafayette, Georgia; stepchildren, Rick Chapman, Michelle Peterson and Loralie Chapman, all of Duboise, Pennsylvania and Shane Chapman of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania; 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Ernest Stanley Reed of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Tim Reed of Cleveland, Tennessee.
