Joan Miller Ayers was born on November 15, 1944 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Watt and Marie Magdelene Melson Miller.
On November 15, 1960, she was united in marriage to William Alton Ayers, who preceded his wife in death on February 5, 2008.
Joan was a member of Savannah Church of Christ in Savannah, Tennessee. She loved to sew and tend to her vegetable garden.
Joan Miller Ayers departed this life on March 3, 2021 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 76 years, 3 months, and 16 days.
She is survived by her daughters, Tresa Henson and Rosanna Sharp, both of Savannah, Tennessee; sons, Jerry Ayers and Jody Ayers, both of Shiloh, Tennessee; sisters, Rosie Gray of Savannah, Tennessee and Diane Bates of North Carolina; brother, Arthur Miller of Savannah, Tennessee; 15 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her son, William Ayers; brothers, Jerry Miller, Earl Miller, Lonnie Miller, and Alton Lee Miller; an infant sister; grandson, Rex Ayers; and a great great grandson.
