Jo Jones was born on January 27, 1941 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Lillie Lucille Cossey Austin.
On May 14, 1960, she was united in marriage to Bobby Dene Jones, who survives. Bobby was the love of her life and they spent 62 years happily married.
Jo worked for many years at Angelica before she spent 27 years working for the Hardin County Board of Education where she managed the cafeteria at Hardin County Middle School. She was a member of Nixon First Pentecostal Church in Savannah, Tennessee. Jo loved cooking, serving, and spending quality time with her family. She will be remembered in the community for her kindness, faithfulness, and dedication.
Jo Jones departed this life on January 19, 2022 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 80 years, 11 months, and 23 days.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Jones of Savannah, Tennessee; daughters, Pam Hatley (Kenne) and Sherry Isbell (Joe), both of Savannah, Tennessee; sisters, Robbie Jones of Savannah, Tennessee and Effie Franks (Bill) of Union City, Tennessee; brothers, James Austin of Savannah, Tennessee, Billy Austin (Patricia) of Dresden, Tennessee and John D. Austin of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Brad Stewart (Cesilie), Jessica Seaton (Alex), Austin Davison (Haven), Karli Davison (Bobby), Emma Davison, Peyton Davison, and Luke Isbell (Cheyenne); and great grandchildren, Faith Stewart, Judah Stewart, Hattie Jo Seaton, Gabby Sanchez, Addie Isbell, and Alex Isbell.
In addition to her parents, Jo was preceded in death by her son in law, Kenne Talley; brother, Floyd Junior Austin; and grandson, Jeffrey Wayne Hatley.
