Jo Ann Ridley

March 3, 1938 — April 23, 2010

Mrs. Ridley died Friday, April 23, 2010, at her home after a short illness.



She was born in Whiteville, the daughter of the late Joe and Mildred Newsom Harris, where she spent most of her life. She married Wallace Ridley on October 23, 1957, and they lived in Memphis for 20 years. For many years, she worked at the Whiteville Library. Mrs. Ridley was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church in Bolivar. She served the church as Sunday School teacher, church clerk and "Team Kids" teacher. Mrs. Ridley was a former member of the Hardeman County Crisis Team of the county Baptist association. She also was very active in the Hardeman County Arts Council.



She leaves her husband, Wallace Ridley of Whiteville; her daughter, Wanda Tudor of Whiteville; three sons, Wade Ridley of Whiteville, Rex Ridley of Bartlett, TN and Royce Ridley of Ingrams Mill, MS; eleven grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
