Jimmy Wayne Wesson was born on April 17, 1954 in Savannah, Tennessee, the son of the late William Hardin Wesson and Emma Garrard Delaney.
On September 1, 1979, he was united in marriage to Jo Ann Ray, who survives.
At the age of 16, Jimmy started work at River Heights Lumber Company for Bob Smith. Bob said that he was the most dependable, hard working 16 year old that he had ever met. Incidentally, Jimmy and Bob shared the same birthday.
Jimmy would go on to work a couple of stints on a towboat. His heart was in the lumber and sawmilling industry, though. He worked for Corinth Mill Supply for 38 years. He retired and loved the job and his customers so well that he went back to work and continued working up until his death.
When the boys were young, he coached their T ball and coach pitch teams. He would take the family on camping trips during the summer.
He loved hunting and was an avid golfer. He always said when he retired he was going to hunt and play golf. Unfortunately, due to health issues, he wasn't able to do either.
He was a member of Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Savannah, Tennessee.
Jimmy Wayne Wesson departed this life on January 5, 2025 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 70 years, 8 months, and 19 days.
