Selmer

Jimmy Rowsey, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, in Selmer, TN. Born on January 5, 1941, in Guys, TN, he lived a full life marked by his dedication to family and community.

Jimmy was united in marriage to Carolyn Kiddy on March 14, 1964.

Jimmy was the proud owner of Selmer Salvage and the Standard Lumber Company, and he also was the founder of J&B Auto Sales. His entrepreneurial spirit was matched only by his commitment to serving others. He was a dedicated member of the Selmer Jaycees, a Master Mason and the Shriners, and he played an instrumental role in founding the East Hills Aquatic Club.

An intelligent and hardworking man, Jimmy graduated from Ramer High School, proudly a year ahead of his classmates. His love of learning and life carried into all aspects of his endeavors. Outside of work, Jimmy found joy in the great outdoors, indulging in his hobbies of hunting, fishing, and camping. Yet, above all else, he treasured the moments spent with his family, who were the light of his life.

He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Rowsey; a daughter, Renee Rowsey of Selmer, TN; his son, Brian Rowsey, and wife Christy of Bethel Springs, TN; and his brothers, Sammy Rowsey and wife Mary, and Johnny Rowsey and wife Alice Faye. Jimmy was a proud grandfather to four granddaughters: Caroline Henderson and husband Dylan of Selmer, TN, Kristen Rowsey, Jilliann Rowsey, and Elli Rowsey of Bethel Springs, TN. A great - grandson, Curtis Lee Henderson, as well as a great - granddaughter Loxley Ann Henderson, expected in September.

In addition to his immediate family, Jimmy will be fondly remembered by many friends and community members whose lives he touched with his kindness and generosity. He is welcomed into eternity by his parents, Beulah Mae and William Howard Rowsey, and those who preceded him in death: his brother, Edward Rowsey, and his sister, Barbara Ann Polk.

Jimmy Rowsey leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and community service. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
