Jimmy Lynn Pope

Jimmy Lynn Pope of Whiteville, TN was born September 4, 1959 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late Robert Lynn Pope and Margaret Walker. He was united in marriage to the former Diane Howard on February 14, 1992. Mr. Pope retired in December 2021 as a material handler for Teknor Apex. He departed this life on August 3, 2022 at his home at the age of 62 years, 10 months and 30 days.

Jimmy was a kind, loving and generous man who loved the Lord. He spent his time with his family and enjoyed fishing and hunting every chance he got. Jimmy never met a person who didn't become a friend, He was a dedicated and hard worker who did anything for his friends and family. He never had any down time because he always found something to do.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Howard Pope of Whiteville, TN; daughters, Angela Lott of Whiteville, TN and Laura Danielle Rimmer of Paragould, AR; sons, Joshua Lynn (Naomi) Pope of Collinwood, TN and Justin Raine (April) Rimmer of Whiteville, TN; sisters, Pearlie (Paul) Adams and Dot Henley; brothers, Bill (Ann) Pope and David (Mary) Howard; brother-in-law, Jerry Nutt; grandchildren, Wesley, Brandon and Savannah Johnson, Breanna Long, Jasper and Rylee Rimmer, Aiden, Austin, Able and Axel Rimmer and Francis and Macayla Brewster and great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Memphis Johnson.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Pope was preceded in death by sisters, Burma Jean Odle, Mary Elizabeth Nutt, Betty Ann Holden and Brenda Gail Howard; brothers, Johnny Oneal and James Paul Howard and a grandchild, Thomas Houston Johnson.

Funeral services will be Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 1:30 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, TN with Ronnie Pope officiating. Burial will follow in Bauchum Cemetery, Waynesboro, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family. Visitation will be Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 11 am to service time at the funeral home.
