JIMMY ‘J.D.’ HEARN
Henderson: Jimmy Douglas Hearn age 76 passed away July 26, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born April 29, 1942 in the Deanburg Community of Chester County, the son of the late James Algie and Mary Evelyn Murdaugh Hearn. He graduated Chester County High School in 1959. He married Kathryn Ann Britton and they made their home in Memphis. In 1966 he was drafted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Sea Bees and was discharged in 1968.
He began working with the Western Electric Telephone Company in 1962 and retired in 1991. He married Joy Brown in Nashville and they made their home in Arizona until her death in 2003. He loved to fix up automobiles.
He was a Baptist in faith.
Mr. Hearn is survived by two sister-in-law’s, Doris Malone Hearn of Minden, LA and Pattie Hearn of Henderson, a step-son Anthony Brown of Huntsville, AL; a nephew, Mike Hearn of South Haven, MS and a niece, Laura Michelle Hearn of Minden, LA.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Jerry Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 11:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pleasant Springs Cemetery at 3085 Pleasant Springs Road, Pinson, TN 38366.
