Jimmy Dan Burns

Jimmy Dan Burns was born April 11, 1944 in Guys, TN the son of the late J.L. and Johnnie Marie Callins Burns.

He was united in marriage to Nancy Carolyn Sims on April 14, 1966. Mrs. Burns preceded him in death on November 18, 2010.

Jimmy Dan graduated from Ramer High School in 1962. Throughout his life, he worked for Brown Shoe Company, Synergy Gas, Phillips Mail Carrier, and Aurora Casket Company. He was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming, watching westerns and wrestling.

Jimmy Dan loved his family and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Mr. Burns departed this life on January 16, 2023 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 78 Years, 9 Months, 5 Days. He is survived by a daughter, Deanne Burns Thorne and boyfriend, Bryan James of Ramer, TN; a son, Dane Burns and wife Carrie of Henderson, TN; three grandchildren, Mealea Callahan and husband Ben of Guys, TN, Grant Burns of Henderson, TN, Josh Burns of Henderson, TN; two great grandchildren, Callie Grace and Colter Callahan; brother-in-law, Oneal Johnson; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Burns was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Ray Burns; a sister, Daphne L. Johnson.
