James "Jimmy" Harding Abrams of Savannah, Tennessee was born on November 8, 1942 to Frankie Stricklin Abrams and T.R. Abrams in Lutts, Tennessee. He was united in marriage with Rachel Lindsey Abrams on June 8, 1961, with whom he enjoyed nearly 65 happy years together.
Jimmy was a lifelong, dedicated farmer and a Forestry Service retiree. Living most of his life in Lutts, Tennessee, Jimmy was active in the Lutts and Wayne County communities; he served on the Board of Wayne County Farm Bureau and the Wayne County School Board, and he was a member of the Masons/Eastern Star. Jimmy was also a member of Savannah Church of Christ in Savannah, Tennessee.
Jimmy passed peacefully on April 1, 2025 in Savannah, Tennessee. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Jimmy is survived by his wife, Rachel Abrams of Savannah, Tennessee; sons, Sandy Abrams (Gaye) of Savannah, Tennessee and Randy Abrams (Vickie) of Columbia, Tennessee; and grandchildren, Adam Abrams of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Lauren Abrams Petty (Chelsea, Asa, and Leighton) of Nashville, Tennessee, and Lindsay Abrams of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his mother, father, and his grandson, David Lindley Abrams.
