Jimmie J. Jones, 81, of Middleton, died Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at his home.
The widower of Alice Rhea Jones, who died January 7, 1997, he was a construction superintendent. Mr. Jones was born November 3, 1923 in Hardeman County, son of the late Freed and Mary Reaves Jones and lived in Hardeman County all of his life. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry in the European theatre during WWII where he received the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Combat Infantry Badge. Mr. Jones attended Middleton First Baptist Church.
Services were 10 AM Friday, August 19, 2005 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with Eric Taylor officiating. Burial was in Reaves Cemetery near Middleton.
Survivors include one daughter, Sarah Stocks of Southaven, Miss.; two sons, David Jones of Middleton and Allen Jones of Bolivar; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
