Jim Polk departed this life on Monday, February 22, 2016, at the age of 67 years and 19 days. He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on February 3, 1949, the son of the late Holly Farris and Reba Nell English Polk. On August 2, 1996, he was united in marriage to Nancy Stephens, who survives.
Jim served his country honorably for 22 years in the military. First in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and then later enlisting in the Army National Guard from which he retired. He loved playing golf, playing bass guitar, but loved his family more than anything. He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy Polk of Savannah, Tennessee; children, John Farris Polk and wife, Tracy of Memphis, Tennessee. Christopher Ryan Polk of Franklin, Tennessee, Chuck Linam, and Lori White and husband, Lee of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jaxon Farris Polk, Caitlyn Polk, Jarrod White, Cassie White, and Hayden Linam; great-grandchildren, Willis Reid White and Emery Reese White; brother, Robert Farris Polk and wife, Julie of Nashville, Tennessee.
