Jim Mills

Bethel Springs, TN, formerly of Jackson, TN: Jim Marvin Mills, age 93, died July 14, 2009, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.He was born and reared in Alcorn County, MS the son of the late John Russell and Louise Jane Settlemen Mills. He attended school in Alcorn County, MS. As a young man he worked for Firestone Tires in Memphis and in 1953, he went to work with the Madison County Highway Dept. and retired in 1992 as foreman. In 1964 he was married to Ruby Clara Melton of Chester County. They made their home in Jackson, TN. Mrs. Mills died in 1981. In 2006 Mr. Mills moved to Bethel Springs. He loved gardening, fishing and camping. He was a Baptist.He is survived by three daughters, Jeannie Hume of MO, Jennine Robison of Bethel Springs and Janet Tharp of Jackson; three sons, Leroy Mills of Memphis, Jimmy Ray Mills of Holly Springs, MS and Chuck Vaugh Mills of Bolivar; 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; three brothers, Reed Mills, Lee Edward Mills and J.C. Mills and two sisters, Ruby Patterson and Edith Mills all of MS.
