Jewell Barnes Dennie was born November 2, 1914 in McNairy County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Buford and Lena Hill Barnes.She was united in marriage to Thomas Elfy Dennie on November 21, 1942. Mr. Dennie preceded her in death on June 21, 1982.Mrs. Dennie retired from Brown Shoe Company in Selmer after 27 years of service. She was a member of the United Pentecostals of Bethel Springs, and was active in the Busy Bee Quilters. Mrs. Dennie departed this life on September 9, 2006 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 91 Years, 10 Months, 7 Days. She is survived by two daughters: Jean Hopkins and husband Rudolph of Bethel Springs, Tennessee and Carol Cima and husband Louis of Adamsville, Tennessee; two sons: James Elfy Dennie and wife Linda of Bethel Springs, Tennessee and Davy Tram (Fummy) Dennie and wife Bettie of Bethel Springs, Tennessee; 9 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, 10 Great Great Grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dennie was also preceded in death by a brother, J. L. Barnes.
