Jessie Mardeen Ubelhor, 82, of Jackson, died Tuesday morning, May 29, 2007 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital Transitional Care.
The widow of Luke Walter Ubelhor, Sr., who died February 16, 1968, she retired from assembly at Kilgore in 1973. Mrs. Ubelhor was born August 5, 1924 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, daughter of the late Alfred Franklin Golden and Erma Irene Rainey Golden. Mrs. Ubelhor spent her early adulthood in Hardeman County before making her home in Madison County in 2000. She was Baptist in belief.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Higgins of Memphis, Linda Johnson and her husband, C. R. of Jackson; two sons and their wives, Luke and Debbie Ubelhor, Wayne and Wanda Ubelhor, all of Toone; one brother, Franklin Rudolph Golden of Marianna, Ark.; five grandchildren, Jerry Wayne Avent, Tommie Higgins, Nathan, Tyler and Allison Ubelhor; three great grandchildren, Jordan Wayne Avent, Drew and Kaden Ubelhor; one step grandchild, David Johnson and special granddog, C. J.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul Edward Ubelhor; a daughter, Judy Avent and one sister, Juanita Alexander.
