Jessie Nell Parrish
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on June 27, 1927 the daughter of the late Walker Whitten Milam and Lillian Elzora Haynes Milam.
Ms. Parrish worked for the Hardin County Health Department and as an Insurance Office Manager for Hardin Medical Center before retiring. During her life she lived in Savannah and Lexington, Tennessee, Waterloo and Boaz, Alabama, Leachville, Arkansas, and Bernie, Missouri. She attended New Life Pentecostal Church in Savannah, Tennessee, and most recently, Bethel Church in Bartlett, Tennessee where she was a member of the quilting club and prayer group, and served as a greeter.
Ms. Parrish enjoyed quilting and dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren. She was a very fine Christian lady and prayer warrior. She loved watching the Tennessee Volunteers play football. She loved to kid, joke and make up songs on occasion.
Ms. Parrish departed this life Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the age of 80 years,
9 months, 23 days.
Ms. Parrish is survived by her 2 daughters who devotedly cared for her: Beverly Parrish of Cordova, Tennessee and Carole Millsaps of Collierville, Tennessee; 2 sisters: Laverne Ledbetter of Savannah, Tennessee and Betty Bennett of Cordova, Tennessee; 1 brother: Walker Milam, Jr. of Blytheville, Arkansas; 4 grandchildren: Dr. Chad Smith and his wife Gretchen, Dr. Brent Smith and his wife Holly, Angela Ennis and her husband Robert, and Jessica Millsaps; 2 great-grandchildren: Mary Elizabeth (Libby) Ennis, Isabelle Ennis; 1 grand-dog: Kokomo, who loved her very much.
