Jerry N. Wilbanks was born May 5, 1944 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Claude and Bernice Bass Wilbanks.
He was united in marriage to Louise Cruse-Austin on November 22, 1986.
Mr. Wilbanks was a mail carrier in the Pocahontas area for over 30 years. He was an active member of the Eastview Baptist Church in Eastview, Tennessee and served his country honorably in the United States Army.
Jerry loved being outdoors, tinkering on old tractors and buying/selling junk. He was full of life, always willing to lend a helping hand, and never met a stranger.
Mr. Wilbanks departed this life on May 31, 2022 in at the age of 78 Years, 26 Days. He is survived by his wife Louise Wilbanks of Ramer, TN; a son, Phillip Austin-Townsend and husband Marvin of Germantown, TN; a daughter, Tammy Austin McMahan and husband Bill of Olive Branch, MS; five grandchildren, Oscar Austin-Townsend, Isaak Austin-Townsend, Lindsey McMahan, Adam McMahan and wife Kimberly, Karley Cenanzo and husband Bo; seven great grandchildren, Swayze McMahan, Sloane Barry, Carly Young, Landon, Harlon Cenanzo, Jordan, Nick; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilbanks was preceded in death by a son, Keary Wilbanks; a sister, Billie Wilbanks King; five brothers, Pauley, Junior, Fred, Glen, and Wayne Wilbanks.
