Jerry Ralph Sullivan was born February 4, 1950 in McNairy County, Tennessee. He is the son of the late Willie E. Sullivan and Melba Miller Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan departed this life on November 7, 2014 in Orlando, Florida at the age of 64 years.
Mr. Sullivan was retired from construction work, where he was self employed. While residing in McNairy County, he served multiple terms as a County Commissioner for the first district. He was also active in the annual Hee Haw Show for the American Cancer Society, playing the role of Laverne and writing the scripts. Mr. Sullivan enjoyed the outdoors, and his hobbies included both fresh water and deep sea fishing, hunting and gardening. He also enjoyed country western dancing.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jana Lespier and husband Joey Lespier of Orlando, Florida and Jennifer Pope and husband David Pope of Russellville, Kentucky. Mr. Sullivan was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Judy Stephens Sullivan.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 11 am until the service at 2 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer, Tennessee. Burial will follow at Bethesda Cemetery.
