Jerry Millard Prater

Jerry Millard Prater of Clifton, TN was born April 15, 1950 in Clifton, TN the son of the late Millard Devergie and Ida Lou Jeter Prater. He was united in marriage to the former Wanda Lois Love on April 30, 1984.
Mr. Prater was a mechanic (actually a jack of all trades) and departed this life on Monday, January 3, 2022 at his home at the age of 71 Years, 8 Months, 19 Days. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Lois Love Prater of Clifton, TN; sons, Trent Prater and Sam Prater companion, Brandy Berry, all of Clifton, TN and Daniel Bannan and wife, Sonya of Savannah, TN; daughter, Joy Clemens and husband, Mark of Canton, GA; grandchildren, Jake Prater, Alex Bannan and Jon Alt and CharliAnne Clemens; a brother, Mark Prater of Clifton, TN; sisters, Laura Prater and Nancy Prater both of Savannah, TN; nieces and nephews, Tammi Gladwin, Tonya Hebert, Tyler Prater, Miranda Williams, Matt Prater, Elliot Prater, Zane Prater and Lesley Tidwell; great-nieces and great-nephews, Colby Skelton, Justin White, Cameron Prater, Austin Horner, Aliyah Prater, Levi Prater, Alayna Prater, Delaney Burns, Liam Tidwell, Ava Williams, Everlee Tidwell, Laithe Prater and Anthony Prater and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Madison White, Rowdy White and Rosie White. In addition to his parents, Mr. Prater was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Prater. Services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Prater's Chapel in Clifton, Tennessee, with Tracy Love officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Trent Prater, Sam Prater, John Alley, Matt Prater, Terry Alley and John Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Zane Prater, Elliot Prater and Tyler Prater.
