Jerry Paul Thompson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Paul Thompson, age 58, of Collinwood, TN, who left us on March 25, 2025. He was born on June 16, 1966, in Florence, AL, the son of the late Edward Paul and Jeanie Marie Herston Thompson. Throughout his career, Jerry dedicated countless hours to construction work, showcasing a remarkable work ethic and a talent that earned him the respect of many. However, his greatest legacy lies not just in his work but in the love he shared with his family and friends. Jerry was lovingly known as the best Pawpaw, pouring warmth and affection into the lives of his grandchildren. He embraced the role of a father to all who needed one, readily offering his support and kindness.

In his precious spare time, Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures of life—riding motorcycles and horses, fishing on serene days, and basking in the beauty of the great outdoors. But what he cherished most was the time spent surrounded by his family, creating memories that will forever remain in their hearts.

He is survived by his wife, Alisha of Collinwood, TN; son, Levi Austin Thompson (Devan) of Collinwood, TN; daughters, Destiny Thompson of Collinwood, TN, and Brianna Harrison of Collinwood, TN; and grandchildren, Kasstin Levi Thompson, Edwin Paul Thompson, Joplin Rayne Brewer, and Serenity Dawn Olive.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Paul and Jeanie Marie Herston Thompson.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN. Burial will follow in the Thompson Family Cemetery in Collinwood, TN. Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family. 

Pallbearers will be Cody Oldham, Wesley Shook, Donnie Hampton, Vince Berry, Cody Hampton, Jamie Bobo, and Zaidyn Oldham.
