JERRY MORRIS
Henderson, TN: Jerry Ray Morris, age 68, passed away January 17, 2019 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born February 17, 1950 in the Cabo Community of Chester County, the son of the late Iley and Mary Click Morris. He attended schools at Cabo. He had farmed all of his life. He married Junell Burkhead in 1971. They made their home at Sardis, Saltillo and Pinson. They moved to Henderson in the early 90’s. He worked as maintenance supervisor at the bus barn for the Chester County school system.
Mrs. Morris died January 25, 2018. They were married forty-six years. He enjoyed playing cards, watching wrestling and spending time with his family.
He was a member of the Finger Church of Christ and was active in the church where he had served as a deacon until his health declined.
Mr. Morris is survived by two sons, Terry Ray Morris (Michelle) of Sand Rock, AL and Steve Maness (Brenda) of Ramer; five daughters, Jenny Thomas (Bobby) of Henderson, Connie Loynes (Ronnie) of Henderson, Linda Ross (Norris) of Jackson, Sandra Patterson (Gary) of Henderson and Patricia Pusser (Jerry) of Beech Bluff; twelve grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.; twenty seven nieces and nephews; two brothers, Larry Morris of Henderson and Billy Morris of Selmer; four sisters, Faye Willis of Henderson, Irene Waldrop of Tupelo, MS, Joyce Vandiver of Georgia and Janice Scott of Scotts Hill.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Imogene Morris and Mary Evelyn Bruntz and two brothers Imajay Morris and James William Morris.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Jeff Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Owens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday.
