Jerry Wayne (J.W.) Hart, Sr.

Jerry Wayne (J.W.) Hart, Sr., 87, of Toone, passed away Wed., June 7, 2023, at his home.

He was born Friday, May 29, 1936, in Bells, TN, son of the late Bunyon and Bertha Inez Byrum Hart, living there until he was 16 at which point he moved to Chicago and worked as a limo driver.  At age 38, he moved back to Hardeman County, living in the Medon/Toone area since 1977.  He also worked at Morgan Lumber and as a security guard with Maxx  Guard.  He married Eleanor Juanita Roberts on June 24, 1972, and enjoyed working on antique cars, gardening, being outside and animals.  He was known as "Mr.  Fix-it" and was a good and honest man.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Hart; two daughters, Rhonda Hill (David) of Saulsbury and Elaine; two sons, James Hart of Toone and Jerry Wayne "Buddy" Hart, Jr. (Vicki) of Jackson; two stepdaughters, Penny Voyda and Diana  Voyda, both of  Chicago, IL; two stepsons, Ray Voyda of Freedom, IL and John Voyda of Chicago, IL; three brothers, Ronnie, Roger and Windell Hart, all of Bells; three grandchildren, David & Dnina Hill and Melissa Kelly; three great grandchildren, Morgan, Collin and Dylan Kelly; and one great great grandchild.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Steven Voyda; sisters, Mildred Price and Joye Jennings; his son's girlfriend, Jessica Sanders and a daughter, Debbie.  Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to Hardeman Adoptable Animals (www.hardemanadoptableanimals.org)
