Jerry Eugene Mills, Sr.

Mr. Jerry Eugene Mills passed from this life at his home in Middleton, Friday morning March 11, 2016 at the age of 74 years, 11 months, and 22 days.

Born March 18, 1941 to Eris Augusta and Lillian Pulse Mills, he was a life long resident of Middleton, TN. Mr. Mills graduated from Middleton High School with the Class of 1960. He worked at Harman for 31 1/2 years, was a supervisor of transportation for the Hardeman County Board of Education for 8 years and City Manager for Middleton for 12 years. A member of Pocahontas First Baptist Church, he enjoyed bird hunting, riding horses, spending time with his grandchildren and friends and loved practical jokes.

He was married to Betty Jane Cole May 21, 1960 who survives along with a daughter Melinda Mills of Tuscaloosa, AL; a son, Jerry Eugene "Gene" Mills, Jr. and his wife Mitzi of Middleton; a brother Jerome Mills of Middleton; 7 grandchildren Blake and his wife, Mallory, Andrew, Trevor, Kristy and her husband, Todd, Kara and her husband, Michael, Matt and his wife, Malinda and Madison; 7 great-grandchildren London, Eli, Michael Charles, Cole, Macon, Hill and Jude.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Tomlinson, a brother, James Mills and his in-laws, Oscar and Juanita Cole.
