Residence - Savannah, TNJERRY BLACKWELDERwas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on May 31, 1941 the son of Lois Shelby Blackwelder and the late Bert Smith Blackwelder.On November 27, 1965 he was united in marriage to the former Mary Ann Hardin, who survives.Mr. Blackwelder was a retired pipe fitter for PCA. He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church, Duck Unlimited and National Rifle Association.Mr. Blackwelder was a United States Navy Veteran.He departed this life on May 22, 2007 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 22 days.Other than his wife, Mary Ann of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by his mother, Lois Shelby Blackwelder of Savannah, Tennessee, one brother, Larry Blackwelder of Savannah, Tennessee.2 nieces, Amy Blackwelder Garrison of Nashville, Tennessee and Tammy Young Blakley of Selmer, Tennessee.3 nephews, Dr. Dale Blackwelder of Savannah, Tennessee, Clay Young of Adamsville, Tennessee and Drew Cain of Memphis, Tennessee.3 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew.Mr. Blackwelder was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Grady and Erma Shelby and Tone and Daisy Blackwelder.Services were held Thurs. 5-24-07 at 1PM in the Shackelford Chapel with Tony Polk and Chris Ozment officiating. Burial in Mars Hill Cemetery.
