Jerome E. Roberts, age 82 of Bolivar, Tennessee, died Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
Mr. Roberts was born in Middleton, Tennessee until he was 17 years old. He then enlisted in the United States Navy, where he spent 20 years of service, and also was in the Korean War and Vietnam War. He reitred on April 22, 1972 from the Navy and he and his family moved back to Bolivar.
Mr. Roberts leaves behind two daughters, Linda Roberts Burnette, and Diana Roberts Galloway (Ricky), both of Bolivar. He also leaves two sisters, Frances Roberts Hampton (Benny) of Toone, and Jeanie Roberts (Tommy) of Bolivar; one brother, Jamie Roberts of Selmer; five grandchildren, Bobby Burnette (Hannah), Darrell "D-2" Roberts II, Lynn Howell, Jason Howell (Patricia), all of Bolivar, and Heather Galloway (Jonathan) of Brownsville; and seven great-grandchildren, Darrell "JT" Roberts III, Abigail and Gabrielle Burnette, Trina, Josh, Johnath and Layla Howell, all of Bolivar.
A memorial service will be held for Mr. Roberts at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Brints Chapel Baptist Church on Searls Road in Middleton. Pallbearers will include family and friends: Bobby Burnette, Darrell "D-2" Roberts II, Lynn Howell, Jason Howell, Paul Ray, James Ray, Tim Ray, Joseph Coop, Richard Hampton, Joey Roberts II, Andy Woods, Kenny Jackson, Rodney Bass, Lynn Wilbanks, Jason Wilbanks, Jammy Bryant, and Kirk Mayfield.
Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his wife, Darnell Luna Roberts; his only son, Darrell J. Roberts; his daughter, Darlene Roberts; and his parents, Pitters M. Roberts, and Ruth Lambert Roberts.
