Ms. Dowdy died Monday, March 17, 2008, at Bolivar General Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Otis Lamar Dowdy and Dorothy Maxine Richmond Dowdy, who survivies. She was a member of the Whiteville First United Methodist Church and lived all her life in Whiteville. Ms. Dowdy had worked as a operator of Bell Telephone and also had worked for Union Planters and First Tennessee banks.
In addition to her mother, she leave a brother, Jerry Dowdy; a niece, Summer Dowdy and a nephew, Shawn Dowdy.
