Jeanette Coln, a beloved wife, mother, and member of the community, passed away on September 12, 2023, in Michie, TN. She was born on November 9, 1931, in Alcorn County, MS, to the late William Hal and Lorena Roy Copeland.
On October 16, 1947, Jeanette married the love of her life, Grady Coln. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love and devotion. Jeanette was a loving and dedicated homemaker, taking great pride in caring for her husband and children.
In addition to her role as a homemaker, Jeanette was an active member of the Acton Home Demonstration Club and the Freed-Hardeman Associates. She deeply valued community involvement and always sought to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Jeanette had a passion for quilting and spent countless hours creating beautiful works of art with intricate designs and vibrant colors. She found solace in reading books that transported her to different worlds and challenged her imagination. Working on puzzles brought her joy as she would patiently piece together each fragment until a complete picture emerged. However, it was tending to her garden where Jeanette truly found tranquility. Her green thumb yielded breathtaking flowers that bloomed with every color imaginable.
"Aunt Net," as she was affectionately known by her many nieces and nephews, played an integral role in their lives. Her warm smile and nurturing demeanor left lasting impressions on each one of them.
Jeanette's faith was unwavering, serving as the foundation of her life. She was a devoted member of Acton Church of Christ where she taught Bible classes. Her dedication to the Lord and her church family knew no bounds; she loved them all with every beat of her heart.
Jeanette is survived by her husband of 75 years, Grady Coln of Michie, TN; a daughter, Judy Tucker of Michie, TN; and a sister, Beth Smith of Cleveland, MS.
In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by a son, David Coln; a sister, Ann Coln; and a brother, Donald Copeland.
In memory of Jeanette Coln's extraordinary life, visitation will be held on September 17, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Acton Church of Christ in Michie, TN. The funeral service will follow immediately afterwards, starting at 3:00 PM at the same location. Interment will be in the Acton Community Cemetery.
Jeanette leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
