Jasper Charles Brewer

Jasper Charles Brewer, Collinwood, TN, was born November 26, 1938 in Collinwood, TN, the son of the late Charles Glenn and Mattie Frances Bromley Brewer. He married Carolyn Candace McCorkle, July 12, 1961 after they started their love story in May of 1958 at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and their love story continues on--his last words to Carolyn were "I love you". Jasper had served as a Vice-President of the Bank of Waynesboro and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Collinwood, Tennessee. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and served in the United States Army from April 16, 1961 as a Rotary Wing Aviator and was discharged as Captain on May 16, 1965. Jasper was the cornerstone in the Brewer family. He was kind, supportive and generous to his family and loved them dearly. He was also well known in the community for his love of banking, having started his banking career at the age of 15 years that continued until he retired at the age of 62 years, less his time he spent in college and serving in the military. Jasper enjoyed serving on the board of directors until his departure from this life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Jasper departed this life, Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at North Alabama Medical Center, Florence, Alabama at the age of 81 Years, 3 Months, 6 Days and is survived by his best friend and devoted wife, just four months shy of 59 years, Carolyn Brewer; sons, Jay Charles Brewer, wife, Melinda and David Mack Brewer, Sr., wife, Angie all of Collinwood, TN; grandchildren, Jaydee Ann Brewer Blackburn, husband, Adam, David Mack Brewer, Jr., wife, Julianna, Jake Charles Brewer, wife, Gab and Devin Robert Brewer; great-grandchildren, Rhett Collins Blackburn, Ramzee Ann Blackburn and Riggins Charles Brewer and his special care giver, Paula Cummings. Besides his parents, Mr. Brewer was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Mack Brewer. Services will be Friday, March 6, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with W. L. Wallace and Edward Murrey officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee, Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family. Visitation will be Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 6 pm to 8 pm and Friday, March 6, 2020 from 11 am to service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Mack Brewer, Jr., Jake Charles Brewer, Devin Robert Brewer, Adam Blackburn, Carl Fred Daniel, Jimmy Hill, Jeter Steele and Cleo Reed with the directors of the Bank of Waynesboro serving as honorary pallbearers.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be given to the First United Methodist Church in Collinwood, TN in an account established at the Bank of Collinwood or Bank of Waynesboro.
