Janice Loretta Blakney was born on September 18, 1942 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Raymond Odel and Eula Mae Carson Blakney.On May 12, 1972 she was united in marriage to Dwight Albert Swift who preceded her in death.Ms. Swift received her B.S. Degree in nursing from the University of North Alabama, she retired from McNairy Regional Hospital where she was the Director of Nursing. She was a member of the Counce First Baptist Church, where she was also a member of the choir.She departed this life on August 30, 2007 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 64 Years, 11 Months, 12 Days.Ms. Swift is survived by her children: Greg Jackson and his wife Sheri of Counce, Tennessee, Tim Jackson of Counce, Tennessee, Chris Swift and his wife Tracey of Savannah, Tennessee, Jana and her husband Kelly Jones of Adamsville, Tennessee; 3 Step-children: Belinda Johnson of Shiloh, Tennessee, Charlotte Plunk of Adamsville, Tennessee, Dana Holt of Savannah, Tennessee; 2 Brothers: Lowell Blakney and his wife Mamie of Counce, Tennesse, Ray Blakney and his wife Kay of Knoxville, Tennessee; 10 Grandchildren: Charley and Jada Jackson; Bridgette, Heather, and Clay Bryant; Wesley, Brett, and Kaylyn Jackson: Christian and Madison Swift; 7 Step-grandchildren; 2 Great-grandchildren: McKenna Bryant and Marly Jackson; and 3 Step-Great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she was precede in death by her grandchild Chandler Holt.
