JANICE MCFARLAND

Beech Bluff, TN: Janice Carol Chaney McFarland age 66, passed away July 20, 2023, at her home.

She was born August 28, 1956, in Madison County, and grew up near Beech Bluff, the daughter of the late Robert Lewis Chaney and Carolyn Lee Cato Chaney. She graduated from Beech Bluff High School in 1974. She worked a few years at Bemis Cotton Mill. She married James McFarland and they lived at Bethel Springs. She worked at Ingram Book Company in shipping. She had made her home with her sister the past three years.

She enjoyed line dancing and playing Bingo.    

Mrs. McFarland is survived by a son, Billy Ray (Cindy) of Beech Bluff; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren: a sister, Peggy Ray of Beech Bluff and a brother, Robert Chaney of Pinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James McFarland; a son, Jason Ray (2022) and two brothers, Robert Chaney, Jr. and Alfred Chaney.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday July 24^th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Danny Ray officiating. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery at Bethel Springs, TN.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Monday.
