Janice Kay Baugus was born on January 8, 1954 in Savannah, Tennessee, the daughter of Billy Simmons and the late Evelyn Smith Simmons.
On July 8, 1977, she was united in marriage to Wayne Baugus, who survives.
Janice worked as a legal secretary for J. Gilbert Parrish, Jr. for 27 years. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee where she was also a member of the choir. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Janice was the best cook and a thoughtful giver. She has been a woman full of faith and hope throughout her life.
Janice Kay Baugus departed this life on October 28, 2022 in Southaven, Mississippi at the age of 68 years, 9 months, and 20 days.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Baugus of Savannah, Tennessee; sons, Jeff Baugus and his wife Holly of Counce, Tennessee and Chris Baugus of Collierville, Tennessee; father, Billy Simmons of Olive Hill, Tennessee; granddaughters, Ashley Baugus of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Autumn Ballard and her husband Steve of Counce, Tennessee, and Ivy Roberts of Counce, Tennessee; great granddaughter, Hazel Brooke Ballard of Counce, Tennessee; sisters, Billie Jean Delaney and her husband Tommy of Morris Chapel, Tennessee and Lisa Jerrolds and her husband Dale of Savannah, Tennessee; and brothers, Robert Simmons and his wife Lucy of Savannah, Tennessee and Kevin Simmons and his wife Misty of Olive Hill, Tennessee.
