Janet Lee Rutherford, 74, of Bolivar, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at her home.
The wife of Robert M. Rutherford, who survives, she was a field representative for the Census Bureau for 30 years. A native of West Virginia, she was born July 21, 1935 to the late Frank and Sophia Ash Walker. She was an active member of Bolivar First Baptist Church where she participated in the WMU and visited nursing homes. She also enjoyed playing cards.
In addition to her husband, whom she married October 23, 1977, survivors include 2 daughters, Debbie Flurry of Bolivar, Diana Jones and husband, Tim of Trenton; son, Carl James, Jr and wife, Terri of Vidalia, GA; sister, Betty Damron of Lake City, FL; brother, Thomas Walker of Thornville, OH; 7 grandchildren, Adam and Shelby Flurry, Sterling and Walker James, Steven Autry II, Alex and Emily Jones; and a great grandchild, Emma Hill and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Chuckie Dowler; and a sister, Nadine Sharp.
