Janet N. Hammett
was born in Hammond, Indiana on December 5, 1947 the daughter of Sue Chandler Newsome and the late Earl Newsome.
She was united in marriage to Richard M. Hammett, who survives. Mrs. Hammett worked as an administrative secretary with C.C.A-South Central Correction in Clifton, Tennessee. She was also a member of Temple Baptist Church.
She departed this life on February 16, 2007 at her residence in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 59 years, 2 months and 11 days.
Mrs. Hammett is survived by her husband Richard Hammett of Savannah, Tennessee;
two sons: Craig Rich of Milledgeville, Tennessee and Brian Rich of Savannah, Tennessee; two grandchildren: Bryce Rich and Ashton Rich;
her mother, Sue Newsome, of McLemoresville, Tennessee; and two brothers: Tim Newsome of Huntingdon, Tennessee and Kevin Newsome of McLemoresville, Tennessee.
