Mrs. Magee was born and reared in Leoma, TN, the daughter of the late Thomas and Maggie Busby. She graduated from Loretta High School and in 1964 was married to David K. Magee. They made their home in Henderson where Mr. Magee worked for the forrester and was a real estate broker and Mrs. Magee worked at Freed-Hardeman College and First State Bank. She retired from the bookkeeping department at First State Bank after her husband’s death on 2000, but continued to work part time.
She had been a member of the Freed-Hardeman Associates and a member of the Mid-South Youth Camp Board of Directors. She was very active in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. She was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ.
She is survived by a daughter Kim Bailey of Henderson and a son Michael Magee and wife Michele of Columbia, SC. There are five grandchildren: Michael Bailey of Murfreesboro, Justin Bailey of Henderson; Harrison, Channing, and Briggs David Magee all of Columbia, SC.
She leaves four sisters: Dena Lumpkins of Florence, AL, Dorothy Copeland of Columbia, TN, Betty Canup of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Mary Nell Norwood of Lawrenceburg, and one brother Cole Busby of Madison, TN.
She was preceded by her husband David K. Magee in 2000 and a brother Jimmy Busby.
