Jana Louise Johnson was born on March 20, 1956 in Memphis, TN to William Jeryl and Agnes Vincent Johnson. She attended schools in Memphis and in Lubbock, Texas before graduating from Franklin (TN) High School in 1974. Jana graduated with a B. A. from Union University and a M.Ed. from Memphis State University. She was a teacher and guidance counselor at Bolivar Junior High and Bolivar Central High before Myasthenia Gravis forced her into early retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bolivar. Jana passed from this life on October 25, 2016 at home.
She is survived by her mother, Agnes Vincent Johnson of Bolivar; a sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Todd Lowe of Bolivar; a sister-in-law, Tina Graves Johnson of Jackson,TN; a nephew, Jon Lowe of Bolivar; two nieces, Hillary and Brittney Johnson of Jackson; three aunts, Pat Vincent of Bolivar, Martha Vincent Laney (Joel) of Davidson, NC and Amelia Johnson Quinn of Memphis; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father; her brother, Rev. Carey Maurice (Johnny) Johnson; an aunt and uncle, Betty and Carey Johnson; her uncle Steve Quinn; and her grandparents, William Carey and Amelia Griffin Johnson, Maurice Olan (Biggie) and Rubye Smalley Vincent.
